The eve of the 65th Independence Day had been selected to felicitate the 71 bright sparks (see शिष्योत्तमांची मांदियाळी) who had made us proud in the scholarship examination of March, 2010.
A lovely rangoli welcomed one and all to the function that had been graced by the presence of three eminent personalities in the field of commerce. The ceremony started on time with the welcome address and the introduction of the dignitaries on the dais. In order to keep the programme lively the merit holders had been divided into six groups. Interspersed with the felicitation of each group, a speech was delivered. Ms. Roshni Kini and Ms.Chaitali Pandharkame who had been victorious in the Middle and High School Scholarship Exam respectively, gave a short speech about their preparations for the exam. They thanked the school and teachers for their tireless efforts. Mr. Satish Chaudhari and Mrs. Neena Joshi, parents of meritorious students were full of praise for the institution. Teachers, Mrs. Pratima Chawla and Mrs.Poonam Vaidya congratulated the students and applauded their perseverance. All the teachers responsible for the excellent results were also felicitated with bouquets.
The Chief Guest C.A. Shri Saket Jain encouraged the students by giving the example of Abraham Lincoln who had failed several times before he became the President of the United States of America. The Guests of Honour, C.A. Shri Dalpat Mehta and C.A. Shri Dilip Goyal advised the children to nurture their talents in all fields and to be All rounders. The programme was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the Principal, Mr. Avinash Bendale. All dispersed happily with a packet of the famous vadaas of Vidyamandir.
