Information on Postal and Banking Services

Lectures are arranged every year to give the elementary information about these important services to students of Vidya Mandir

Postal Services:

Every year, Mr. Vasant Vagaskar, known for his principles and social commitment,  gives lectures to our school children on Postal Services.

This year the lecture was arranged on 22nd January for Marathi Medium students.

Approximately 524 students form std.VIII  took advantage of this lecture.

On 23rd, the same lecture was arranged for the students of English medium.

Approximately 150 students from std VIII were benefited with this knowledge on postal services.

Shri. Vagaskar is also a life member of VPM

Banking

Mr. Sudarshan Parab, Ex VP, Axis Bank, and patron member of VPM  was invited for this Lecture on banking.

He spoke on various services given by banks (on 20th Jan for  English Medium ).

Approximately 150 students benefited.

The same was arranged for Marathi medium on 21st jan.

Approximately 455 students from std IX in Marathi medium took advantage of this lecture.

English Secondary Section : Activities during 20/12/08 to 17/01/09

Internal Examinations:

· III unit test & III/IV unit test of Std V to VIII & IX commenced from 5^th Jan. ’09 and concluded on 10^th Jan.’09 .

· Preliminary Examination of Std X commenced from 5^th Jan and will conclude on 19^th Jan.,2009.

Sunday Practice examinations:

· Geometry, Hindi, Sanskrit & Algebra practice paper were conducted. Evaluated answer papers of Geometry, Hindi and Algebra have been distributed to the students.

External Examinations:

· Results of Ganit Pravinya Examination:6 students from std V have been qualified for pradnya examination by securing more than 70% marks in Ganit Pravinya Exam.

· Mr. Rajendra Gosavi (Moderator for SSC Board) gave a Guidance Lecture on the subject of Geometry for the students of std X on 24/12/08.

· A Guidance Lecture was delivered by Mr. Gosavi (Member of Mumbai Science Teacher’s Association.) on 24/12/08 for the students of Std VI & IX qualified for Balvaidyanik science practical examinations.

conducted Seminar on Personality Development organized by Pathik HRD institute & Loksatta (media partner) in Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi on 04/01/2009.Mrs. Gadgil & Mrs. Vaidya attended the same.

· Mrs. Kshmaa Vanlanjoo was an Examiner (Chemistry Std VI) for Balvaidnyanik practical examination at Social Service League School,Lower Parel on 04/01/2009.

· Mrs. Reshema Shinde was also an Examiner (Physics Std IX) for Balvaidyanik practical examination at Social Service League School,Lower parel on 11/01/2009.

· 60 students of Std IXA/B paid a visit to St. Xavier’s School,Borivali (E) on 12/01/09 to watch the ‘Ad Films ‘ prepared by the students from all over India

शनिवार दिनांक 6 डिसेंबर रोजी भारतरत्न डॉ.बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांची पुण्यतिथी साजरी करण्यात आली. त्यांच्या प्रतिमेला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून त्यांच्या कार्याविषयी, लहाणपणाविषयी गोष्टी, माहिती सांगितली. विद्यार्थ्यांनाही छोट्या छोट्या गोष्टी सांगितल्या.

बुधवार दि. 17 डिसेंबर रोजी रविकिरण मंडळातर्फे आयोजित बालनाट्य स्पर्धेत आपल्या शाळेने अरुणोदय हे बालनाट्य सादर केले. त्यात आपल्या शाळेला उत्तेजनार्थ बक्षीस मिळाले व खालील विद्यार्थ्यांना उत्कृष्ट अभिनय व कलाकाराचे बक्षिस मिळाले.

     शुक्रवार दि. 19 डिसेंबर रोजी संत गाडगेबाबा पुण्यतिथी साजरी करण्यात आली.
     "बोले तैसा चाले, त्याची वंदावी पाऊले' या उक्तीप्रमाणे वागणारे संत गाडगेबाबा. यांनी स्वत: रस्ते झाडून, गाव स्वच्छ्‌ता मोहीम राबवून आपल्या वागण्यातून, आचरणातून लोकांना स्वच्छतेचे धडे दिले . "जेथे स्वच्छता तेथे आरोग्य'  म्हणून सर्वांनी शालेय परिसर, वर्ग, घर, घराजवळील परिसर स्वच्छ ठेवावा. या निमित्ताने विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मनावर वरील संदेश ठसविण्याचा प्रयत्न करण्यात आला.

     गाडगेबाबांविषयी शिक्षकांनी माहिती सांगितली. बालोद्यानजवळील परिसर 2 री च्या विद्यार्थांकडून स्वच्छ करून घेण्यात आला. (20 डिसेंबरची पुण्यतिथी 19 डिसेंबरला साजरी करण्यात आली.)

     शनिवार दि. 20 डिसेंबर रोजी कै. उषा रमाकांत म्हात्रे व्याख्यान माला-पुष्प 2रे या कार्यक्रमांतर्गत 'आनंददायी शिक्षण' कसे असावे याविषयीची कार्यशाळा आयोजित करण्यात आली होती. मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी पोतदार हायस्कूलच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. दिक्षित मॅडम उपस्थित होत्या.  त्यांनी आनंददायी शिक्षण कसे द्यावे, याविषयी हसतखेळत, मनोरंजनातून उत्तम असे मार्गदर्शन केले. मुठींचा खेळ , स्मरणशक्ती या खेळातून आनंद कसा देता येतो, हे प्रात्यक्षिकातून दाखवले, टाळ्यांचे फायदे सांगितले. टाळ्या वाजवल्याने रक्ताभिसरण क्रिया घडते. शिक्षकांनी सतत प्रयोगशील व प्रयत्नशील असावे असेही त्या म्हणाल्या. या कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन सौ. विनिता सावंत यांनी केले.           

सोमवार दि. 22 व 29 डिसेंबर रोजी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या कल्पना शक्तीला वाव मिळावा, त्यांना नवनिमिर्तीचा आनंद मिळावा या हेतूने इ.1ली व इ. 3री च्या विद्यार्थ्यांकडून पानाफुलांच्या विविध कलाकृती करून घेण्यात आल्या. त्या एकत्रित मांडून छोटेखानी प्रदर्शन भरवण्यात आले.

रविवार दि.21 डिसेंबर रोजी सुविद्यालय बोरिवली येथे शंकरमठम संस्था आयोजित इ.1ली-2री साठी महालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तव: व 3री, 4थी साठी लिंगाष्टकस्तोत्रम पाठांतर स्पर्धेत 15 विद्यार्थी सहभागी झाले होते. त्यापैकी खालील विद्यार्थी यशस्वी झाले :

  गुरुवार दि. 25 डिसेंबर रोजी नाताळ्ची रजा असल्यामुळे नाताळ सणाविषयीची माहिती 24 डिसेंबरला   विद्यार्थांना सांगण्यात आली. आपल्या ख्रिस्ती मित्रांना आठवणीने नाताळ्च्या शुभेच्छा द्या. याने आपले मित्रत्वाचे   नाते जवळ  येईल . यातूनच  खऱ्या अर्थाने सर्वधर्मसमभाव वाढीस लागेल.

शनिवार दि. 27 डिसेंबर रोजी शिक्षक-पालक सभा घेण्यात आली. त्यावेळी खालील मुद्यांवर चर्चा  करण्यात आली.

2009- A bad year?

For the first time, prophets, soothsayers, astrologers and all of their kind are unanimous in their predictions for the year 2009. Put briefly, what they say is, “Life is going to be gloomy, folks.”

As far as I am concerned every new day ushers in a new sun, warm and fresh, bringing in opportunities and challenges. Maria Rilke said, “The future is time’s excuse to frighten us.”

Eager faces welcome me as I walk through the school gates and a constant and enthusiastic clamour of “Good Morning Teacher” accompanies me till I step into the office. One feels like The Queen. The tiny tots cast a spell on me and negative thoughts take wings.

Well the year 2009 seems to be good for us at Vidyamandir. When I look out of the window, the new building construction work seems to be progressing well. A slow but steady stream of donations is also coming in.

MakarSankranth was celebrated with the usual gaiety. Spring is around the corner. Several children won awards in Camel Colour contest, a few more prizes are expected in other spheres. Children are bright and energetic. The unit test cannot dampen their spirits. The present looks good and the future doesn’t seem bad either. There is no point in worrying. We are here to live life. Let us go forward and embrace whatever it has to offer.

बालोद्यानातील बालगोपाळांसमवेत...

22 नोव्हेंबर ते 09 जानेवारी 2009 पर्यंतचा अहवाल.

गुरुवार दिनांक 20 नोव्हेंबर 2008 रोजी ’चिन्मय मिशन’ संस्थेतर्फे गीतापठण स्पर्धा झाली (आठवा अध्याय - 6 श्लोक पाठांतरासाठी होते.) स्पर्धेत 15 विद्यार्थ्यांनी भाग घेतला. त्यापैकी 3 स्पर्धकांची निवड दुसऱ्या फेरीसाठी झाली. सर्व विद्यार्थी बालवर्ग/Sr.K.G. चे होते.

शनिवार दिनांक 29/11/2008 रोजी ’पालक-शिक्षक’ सभा घेण्यात आली.

सोमवार दिनांक 01/12/2008 ते 03/12/2008 पर्यंत बालोद्यानमध्ये क्रीडामहोत्सव साजरा करण्यात आला. मुलांनी विविध खेळामध्ये उत्साहाने भाग घेतला.

बालवर्ग/Sr.K.G. साठी - धावणे, अडथळा शर्यत, संगीतखुर्ची.

शिशुवर्ग/Jr.K.G. साठी - धावणे, बेडूक उडी, नागमोडी चालणे हे खेळ घेण्यात आले.

शुक्रवार दिनांक 05/12/2008 रोजी बालवर्ग/Sr.K.G. आणि शिशुवर्ग/Jr.K.G. या वर्गाची श्लोक पाठांतर स्पर्धा घेण्यात आली. प्रतिसाद चांगला होता.

शनिवार दिनांक 06/12/2008 रोजी ’बॉम्बे आर्टस अॅन्ड स्पोटर्स’ आयोजित आंतरशालेय समूहगान स्पर्धा ‘दिनानाथ मंगेशकर’ नाट्यगृह पार्ले येथे घेण्यात आली. या स्पर्धेत बालवर्ग/Sr.K.G. च्या 10 विद्यार्थ्यांनी भाग घेतला होता. समूहगानाचे सादरीकरण विद्यार्थ्यांनी उत्तम प्रकारे केले. सर्व स्पर्धक विद्यार्थ्यांना आयोजकांतर्फे प्रशस्तिपत्रक व खाऊ देण्यात आला.

रविवार दिनांक 07/12/2008 रोजी ’चिन्मय मिशन’ तर्फे घेण्यात आलेल्या गीतापठण स्पर्धेत दुसऱ्या फेरीत निवड झालेल्या 3 विद्यार्थ्यांची स्पर्धा ’चिल्ड्रन्स अॅकेडमी’ कांदिवली - पूर्व,

येथे घेण्यात आली. त्यापैकी 1 स्पर्धकाची निवड तिसऱ्या फेरीसाठी म्हणजे राज्यपातळीवरील स्पर्धेसाठी करण्यात आली. ही तिसरी फेरी जानेवारी 2009 मध्ये होणार आहे. शनिवार दिनांक 13/12/2009 रोजी सकाळी 10.00 ते 10.30 या वेळेत शाळेच्या संकुलातील सर्व शिक्षकांसाठी सौ. मीनल दिक्षित, मुख्याध्यापिका, गोदावरी पोद्दार हायस्कूल, सांताक्रूझ, यांचे व्याख्यान आणि कार्यशाळा आयोजित केली होती. कार्यशाळा खूपच छान झाली.

वात्सल्य ट्रस्टतर्फे ’भाऊबीज भेट’म्हणून जो निधी जमा करण्यात येतो त्या निधीस यावर्षी बालोद्यान विद्यार्थ्याकडून 2000/- रुपये जमा करून देण्यात आले. सोमवार दिनांक 22/12/2008 ते बुधवार दिनांक 24/12/2008 पर्यंत शिशुवर्ग/ Jr.K.G. ची वर्गाप्रमाणे ’वेशभूषा’ स्पर्धा घेण्यात आली.यावर्षी स्पर्धेसाठी प्रत्येक वर्गाला विषय दिला होता. (Jr.K.G.A - देव, Jr.K.G.B. - संत , शिशुवर्ग -आपले मदतनीस.) स्पर्धेला प्रतिसाद चांगला होता.

गुरुवार दिनांक 25/12/2008 आणि शुक्रवार दिनांक 26/12/2008 रोजी बालोद्यानाला नाताळची सुट्टी होती.

सोमवार दिनांक 29/12/2008 व मंगळवार दिनांक 30/12/2008 रोजी प्राथमिक इंग्रजी विभागाच्या विद्यार्थ्यानी ’विज्ञान प्रदर्शन ’ मांडले होते ते बालोद्यानाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना दाखविले. मुलांना त्याची मजा वाटली. त्यांनी वर्गात प्रश्न विचारले व उत्तरे समजून घेतली

. बुधवार दिनांक 31/12/2008 रोजी मराठी माध्यमिक विभागाच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. आसावरी सुर्वे यांचा निरोप समारंभ दहिसर स्पोर्टस् फाऊंडेशनच्या सभागृहात झाला. सौ. आसावरी सुर्वेमॅडम यांच्याविषयी बालोद्यानातर्फे सौ. कल्पिता वर्तक यांनी शाळेच्या माजी विद्यार्थीनी व आता एक शिक्षिका या नात्याने आपले मनोगत व्यक्त केले व बालोद्यानातर्फे मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. जोशीमॅडम यांच्या हस्ते सौ. सुर्वेमॅडमना भेटवस्तू देण्यात आली.

शुक्रवार दिनांक 02/01/2009 रोजी ’नवीन वर्षाचे’ स्वागत उत्साहाने करण्यात आले. मुलांना खाऊ म्हणून मक्याचा चिवडा देण्यात आला. रविवार दिनांक 04/01/2009 रोजी ’चिन्मय मिशन’ गीता श्लोक पाठांतर स्पर्धेत तिसऱ्या फेरीत निवड झालेल्या एका स्पर्धकाची स्पर्धा ’सांदिपनी साधना विद्यालय’, पवई येथे घेण्यात आली. ही राज्यस्तरीय स्पर्धा होती. विद्यार्थ्याचे सादरीकरण उत्तम होते.

बुधवार दिनांक 07/01/2009 रोजी बालवर्ग /Sr.K.G. विद्यार्थ्यांची सहल ’टिकूजीनी वाडी’ घोडबंदर, ठाणे, येथे गेली होती. सहलीचा मुलांनी भरपूर आनंद घेतला. वेगवेगळ्या क्रीडासाधनांवर मुले बागडली. सहलीच्या सहभोजनाचा आस्वाद घेतला. सर्व शिक्षकही मुलांबरोबर मूल होऊन सहलीचा आनंद लुटत होते. बसमधून जाता-येता मस्त गाणी गप्पा अशी खूपच धमाल केली. दुसऱ्या दिवशी येताना मुलांनी ’सहल’ या विषयावर उत्तम चित्रे काढून आणली होती.

New School Building

VPM's Vidya Mandir Dahisar, is poised to take off to a brighter future with the construction of the new school building progressing in full swing.

The estimated cost of the project is in the region of Rs.12.5 Crores.

M/s. Paranjpe and Deshpande, as Hon. Consulting  Architects have designed the school building and M/s. Phulkar & Kangutkar are overseeing the construction as our chartered architects. M/s. Kankon Managements are the Project Management Consultants and Shri. Harshad Gokani is helping the institution as the Structural Engineer.

18th Dec.2008 :  Fancy Dress Competition

19th Dec.2008 :  The most colourful competition of the year. With great enthusiasm students participate in this camp.We were amazed to see their creativity & imagination.

Every year a number of activities and competitions are conducted. This year we decided to start two new activities, i.e., Fancy Dress Competition and Science Exhibition.

The Fancy Dress competition for all classes was conducted in two phases, I and II std. on 18^th December 2008 and III and IV std. on 19^th December 2008. The interest shown and response was overwhelming. Over 400 students from all classes participated. We had several Jhansi Ki Ranis, Shivaji Maharajas, vegetable vendors and so on. Most of the tiny tots showed tremendous confidence in the delivery of their dialogue and their carriage. The best three entries from each class were selected.

24th Dec.2008 :  "Christmas" - The festival of lighting the candles & cutting the cakes was celebrated. Students enjoyed the festival by singing Christmas carols. They danced on the tunes of western music & had great time. Cakes were given to all.

27th Dec.2008 :  Scholarship Mock Exam. no. 1 for the Std.IV .

29th Dec.2008   & 30th Dec.2008 :  Science Exhibition To develop scientific temper & skill, the science exhibition was held for the students of Std. III & IV.All the students participated   in this group activity. teachers made the groups if all the students & guided them to understand the cause & effect relationship in science. Parents also helped their wards in making science projects & working models in science.

Children had been divided into groups of 8-10 and various topics had been allotted. Projects on display dealt with Forms of Energy, Internal Organs, Natural Calamities, Types of Houses etc. A lot of effort had gone into the making of all the projects and several innovative ideas were used. We had several working models too. Students explained the projects with ease and answered the questions posed by the judges confidently.

The dedication shown by parents, teachers and students was commendable. These four days of activity will indeed be memorable.

3rd Jan.2009 :    A meeting was organized with all the parents representatives of  primary section. H.M. & Teachers attended the meeting.  Managment members Mr. Karandikar, Mr. Kelkar & Mr. Patnekar were also present. The agenda of the meeting was "to raise funds for the construction of the new school building".         Karandikar sir, motivated parents & gave good guidance to them regarding the collection of building fund.

Internal Competitions:

Following competitions were held in the month of December,’08.

· Debate Competition for the students of std VII vs VIII was held on 5^th December,2008.Winning team std VIII.

· Science Quiz Competition for the students of std V to X was conducted on 2^nd December, 2008.Results were declared.

External Competitions:

Rotaract club of Dahisar Coast has organized various competitions for the students of std V to X.

· Debate competition was held on 23^rd November,2008.Total 3 teams (9 students) from std VII to IX participated in the same. Following 3 teams are selected for Semi-final which will be held in the month of Febraury, 2009.

Nehru centre had organized quiz competition on 27^th November, 2008.Mst Atul Kotian from std IX B won 3^rd prize in the same(certificate and cash prize Rs.500/-)

School Examinations:

Open house for std V to X was held on 6^th December, 2008.

Preliminary examination for std X will commence from 5^th January to 19^th January, 2009.

3^rd and 4^th unit test for std IX will begin from 5^th January to 10^th January ,2009. 3^rd unit test for std V to VIII will commence from 5^th January and will conclude on 9^th January, 2009.

Sunday Practice examinations:

Geography, Marathi and Science II practice papers were conducted. Geography and Science II practice papers have been distributed.

External Examinations:

· Ganit pravinya examination was conducted on 7^th December, 2008 in our school. Total 55 students appeared for the same

· Bal Vaidnyanik examination .Total 8 students of std VI are selected for practical. Mst Shantanu Tawte and Mst.Shreyas Kupekar from std IX are selected for practical.

· Marathi Nimnasthar examinations. Total 424 students appeared for Marathi Nimnasthar examination conducted on 14^th December ,2008 in our school between 8 a.m to 11 a.m

· Hindi Rashtrabhasha examination :Results of the examination are as follows:

· Prabhodhan interschool competition 2008-09 had organized kho-kho interschool competition age group under 17 girs/boys on 10^th and 11^th December, 2008 .Two teams participated in the same and they are selected for semi finals.

· B.Ed student teachers from Thakur college conducted classes on 11^th ,15^th &16^th December, 2008 in our school.

· 12^th December 2008 was “Matrys Day”. To commemorate the sacrifice of Matrys,the students of V.P.M vidya mandir paid their sincere tribute to the brave soldiers, who laid their lifes on 26^th November, 2008 for the peace of this nation.

· Our school had arranged a lecture cum workshop for all the teachers of V.P.M’s Vidya mandir on the topic “Handling the students having different learning abilities” on 13^th December 2008.Dr.(Mrs) Meenal Dixit, Principal of Podar high school,Santacruz(w),(Marathi Primary) delivered a lecture.

· Mst.Athrva Sontakke and Mst.Mohan Kotian form std IX attended a NIE Reporters program and quiz competition on 18^th December 2008 in Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi.They were accompanied by their parents.

· Slide show for std V to X was conducted by “Four Cods” institution on the topic “Care and Diseases of Eye”on 19^th December 2008 for morning shift from 10 a.m to 12 noon and for afternoon shift between 12.30 p.m to 2.30 p.m

· Total 9 students from std X will be visiting TIFR on 21^st December, 2008.They will be accompanied by their parents and 2 teachers (Mrs. Shenoy and Mrs Khadatkar).

· Vidya Prasarak Mandal has arranged for farewell programme for Mrs.Surve Madam on 31^st December 2008.

· School will remain closed for Christmas vacation from 25^th December to 30^th December 2008.

· Shri. Vasuki Haranhalli, Chairman of English Secondary section had come to talk with the students of std X-A about their dreams and discipline.

· ‘Great Artist Competition’ was conducted by Daily Sakal News Paper in the month of September. Ms. Mita Prashant Dev from std VI –A was honoured with the title ‘Great Artist” in Group A from std IV to VII and also bagged cash prize Rs.21,000/-.
