Revealing yet another facet of the young achiever, Shri Vasuki observed, “For a school, which produces the best athletes at the state and at the national level, knowing more about their chief guest this morning, is truly going to be an aha! experience. DSC_2439 (Large) That is because, besides his phenomenal career achievements, he is also an avid athlete himself. Till date he has run 14 marathons out of which 7 marathons were of full 42 kilometres each. No wonder that he has his - no- excuse- daily ration of running and workouts.”

The tiny tots of Balodyan sang a Hindi Patriotic song in their sweet voices. In her speech  Ms. Durvakshi Nare of Std. X spoke with pride abDSC_2374 (Large)out the strides that India had made in the recent past. Students of Marathi Secondary performed the ‘Lezim’ dance and also Aerobics. Both were meticulously executed. The little ones of English Primary, using decorated sticks as props, presented a commendable P.T. Display. It is believed that Pyramids serve to concentrate and direct the energy of the Sun and the Marathi Primary students did just that in tDSC_2447 (Large)heir performance. A fusion of ‘Taal,’ ‘Lezim’ and five dances accompanied with a live orchestra was the speciality of the next item. Nearly a hundred students of the English and Marathi Secondary participated in this novel performance. DSC_2458 (Large)

He extolled the youth to remember that Hard work, Concentration and Purpose would ensure that nothing in life is difficult.  He quoted several inspiring lines from popular movies DSC_2573 (Large)

and said that our journey was not complete unless success is reached and that there was much to do in the years to come DSC_2525 (Large)as our competition was not with ourselves but with the entire world.

The programme culminated with a short Prize distribution ceremony wherein several outstanding achievers, who had excelled in various sports events at the district, state and national level were given awards. This occasion will surely be remembered in the years to come.

The programmed was successfully co-ordinated by Ms. Nandita Churi, of English Primary Section. DSC_2578 (Large)

The stress of preparation seems nothing when we are enjoying the show. All the effort that went past seems worthwhile.

LETTER TO PARENTS FROM THE TEENAGER

I represent the youth…

You are my past, I am your future,

You have taught me how to stand on your shoulder

And look ahead…

Now I have to stand on my feet.

I have learnt so many things from you,

I have learnt to study, to appear for exams,

To score good marks and to make you feel proud…

To observe good manners in society etc…

However there are so many things I still have to learn…

I don’t know how to differentiate between

A true friend and an imposter,

I don’t understand what true love is...

Whether it exists or not...

I don’t know how to apply,

Whatever I read in books.

Whether all I read is applicable…

And so many other things.

I have yet to understand my purpose in life,

Let me discover it on my own.

I am embarking on my own journey, in my own ship.

I need to be in touch with you please be available.

You will have to bear with me…

You will find it difficult to accept my restlessness and discontent.

No, please don’t try to be too understanding…

I don’t want you to emulate my language…

Please stop collecting thorns…

Please don’t hurry to analyze facts …

I don’t need ready-made solutions…

There are three things I don’t like…

If you violate my privacy…

If you preach what you don’t practice…

If you talk in chapters…

And please one more request,

Don’t futurize, be here and now.

Just be like a harbour, don’t do anything…

Whenever I return to you in my ship,

Please welcome me with your open arms.

I know in my heart of hearts that you love me,

I love you too…even if I don’t show it.

INDEPENDENCE DAY SPEECH

by Miss Aditi Bane (IV-a)

Distinguished guest for the occasion, Respected Principal, Teachers and my dear Friends,

Aditi Bane Today we complete 64 years of independence from the British rule. At the stroke of midnight of 15th Aug, 1947, India shook off the shackles of British rule and became free. It was a night of celebrations all over the country. It was a moment of pride and glory.

This day, 15th August is a golden day engraved in the history of India. It is celebrated as Independence Day in India. It is also a national holiday. This national festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country.

On this occasion, rich tributes are paid to freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for a good cause. Schools and colleges mark the day with Flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural activities. Housing Societies, cultural centres and clubs hold entertainment programmes and competitions.

DSC_3315 (Large)

Our Prime Minister sets the mood by hoisting the National flag and addressing the nation from the Red Fort. This is accompanied by a march past of the armed and police forces. T.V. channels show patriotic movies and radio channels play patriotic songs.

My dear friends, we are very fortunate to have been born in free India. We have been able to breathe the fresh free air since our birth. We have proved ourselves worthy of freedom. We are the largest democracy in the world.

How proud we were when Abhinav Bindra’s achievement made our national flag flutter with pride and ‘Jana Gana Mana’ was played at the background in Beijing! We are proud of all the great achievers and contributors.

But are we blind to the black clouds surrounding us? Have we been very successful in using our freedom in the right manner? If so, why should there be so many bomb blasts, killings, attacks on government offices, cases against so many politicians, scams and so many unstable governments?

Well, my dear friends, what can a student do at this juncture? Should we go and catch the terrorists? Should we fight against the corrupt politicians? Should we take over the country into our hands by waging another war for freedom?

No, we are not expected to do all these things. We must keep observing things around us. Let us prepare ourselves to be well-educated citizens of tomorrow. Let us do our duty sincerely and study hard to achieve our goal. Today we require youngsters with lots of knowledge and energy.

Let us remember the words of Bernice Moode “Self Government, Self Discipline, Self responsibility are the triple safeguards of the independence of men”.

Let us all be independent in true sense of the term

Jai Hind!

And this is for us my dear friends...

On Saturday, 6th August, 2011 and Sunday, 14th Aug 2011 at 10.30 am, the students of Std. X of English as well as Marathi Medium attended an educative lectures delivered by Mr. Abhay Parulekar, G.M. Hindustan Construction, who also happens to be an ex-student of our school.

It was very interesting lecture dealing with how to succeed in our life. Mr. Parulekar taught the students some basic but very Abhay Parulekar -important ways to control our subconscious mind. All the points were explained with some examples, so the students were able to grasp them very easily. It was an interactive session. It was not a ‘one man show’ but the students participated enthusiastically. Questions like – ‘how to reprogramme our subconscious mind’, ‘what is difference between by hearting and mugging up’, ‘how to overcome pear pressure’ etc. were asked by the students. In a very simple manner the doubts of the students were solved by Parulekar sir. Not only that, but the time management quadrant was also taught. Surely, the students unable to manage their time were benefited by this. At the end of the session, a small video, encouraging students was also shown. Thus, around 12.30 pm the session got over.

It was really a very interesting lecture which would not only help the students to prepare them for the board exam but also help students to enhance and built up a good personality in their near future. It will be beneficial to all in their life. Thus all would be thankful to school which organised this lecture and would love to attend such lecture again.

Ms.Durvakshi Nare.

Std. X A (Secondary English)

---------------------------------------------

It was a delight to have Mr.Abhay Parulekar, a multifaceted personality, for the motivational lectures organised on Saturday, 6th August and Sunday 14th Aug 2011. We all students of std. X, both English as well as Marathi medium, were acquainted with an altogether new concept of subconscious mind. His language of explaining with varied examples and making us understand was so lucid that we could easily learn the techniques and tricks of reprogramming and controlling our subconscious mind and use it for our benefit. His tips on time management have surely helped us in completing assignments. We are able to give enough time for self-study. Not onPhoto0085 (Large)ly the guidance but the movie shown by him were motivational and encouraging, filled with optimism. This lecture has surely lit a spark of enthusiasm in us.

We all are grateful to Mr.Abhay Parulekar for devoting his valuable time for us from his busy schedules. We will be happier if he visits our school again and share some more facts, concepts and techniques of subconscious mind.

Mst. Subhash Sharad Nadkarni.

Std. X A (Secondary English)

-------------------

It was Saturday, 6th August, 2011 we were given a very important push to go on the path of success and to achieve our aims by Mr. Abhay Parulekar through his motivation lecture. What we learn from this lecture is….

1. Write our goal on a paper in bold writing and stick it near our study table table. For eg. 95%

2. To repeat the goal six times before we start our study. This will help to concentrate and put the right efforts.

3. Always be optimistic as the subconscious mind always listen to us whatever we say and act accordingly.

4. Hence, never to think negatively as it would affect our progress.

5. We should develop qualities like self- appreciation, vision, commitment and contribution within us.

6. Time management is very important to work efficiently. For this we should categorise our work as ‘Important and urgent’, ‘urgent but not important’, important bot not urgent’, and ‘neither urgent not important’.For e.g. to watch serials- neither urgent nor important or to study regularly is important but not urgent but if we do not do it we have to struggle whole night before the exam.

7. Hence to concentrate on the work that is important but not urgent. This will reduce the burden at the last movement.

Now let us work to achieve our goal .Lot of thanks to Mr.Paulekar for guidance and thanks to school for arranging it.

Jitali Kamat.

SSC students with teachers2

And this is for you my teachers---

The speech delivered by Pallavi Prakash Saple, the first rank holder on the day of felicitation:

“It’s my honour to be here among you all. Today I have got this opportunity due to valuable guidance and contribution of all my teachers that has given a new impetus to my work. They are the beacons, who empower us to make the wind favourable to our journey and help us set the sail to reach further academically and culturally.DSC_1474 (Large)

Throughout my journey of 10th, I was really nervous and tense that I have to appear for a ‘BOARD’ exam. Even teachers were worried due to downfall in my performance. But they filled me with positive attitudes, upgraded my confidence and their moral support gave me a ray of hope in bad times. My parents have also cared and served me wholeheartedly. I had always heard that hard work never goes in vain but today I have experienced it.

I have been really lucky to have such a great institution like VidyaMandir which recognises potential of every student. If our school has tried to give us better amenities each year then why don’t we strive hard to add feathers in her cap in the years coming ahead!!!

I think this school has a lion’s share in carving our personalities and preparing us to undertake further responsibilities.

Above all I would like to thank God for his blessings, my teachers’ parental love right from KG section to std. X who helped me succeed

And this is for you my teachers---

I didn’t pay attention every minute of the day,
And admittedly, my favourite time was going out to play.

Yet determinedly, you taught me putting me to test,
Encouraging my efforts as you made me to do my best.

Some lessons were a challenge and you taught me how to cope,
Each day I grew in confidence, ability and hope.

I really now appreciate you made me learn through fun,
Thank you very much for all you have said and done.”
