Galileo Galilei

Science has helped man to progress in many fields .Eminent astronomer, physicist and seeker of truth Galileo Galilei was born on February 15,1564 in Pisa a town in Italy.

One Sunday in 1583 Galileo made his first scientific discovery. During a rather boring cermony he watched one of the church lamps gently swinging. This led him to carry out further experiments to investigate the motion of pendulum .Based on this work ,Galileo formulated a law describing the pendulum swing. Later these ideas were used in the construction of the first accurate clocks.

The actual pendulum used by Galileo in his experiments conducted after seeing the lamp’s motion in the church . After carrying out numerous experiments and alternating all the variable he could state with certainty the law which says “whatever the length of a pendulum swing , the time taken to complete the swing is the same

Library@VidyaMandir

Vidya Mandir library completed 5 years of existance, silently growing in strength. It won't be surprising if it succeeds in putting its student members on the blogging map in near future.

Here, two FAQs are answered. We may have to go on to other questions as and when they are posed frequently by the school community. After all, having a library or study room need not be considered a novelty. What we have attempted differently is to try and share the book banks of all the stake-holders at a single place, running 12x7.

अभ्यासिका स्थापन करण्यामागचा हेतू काय ?

शाळेच्या वास्तूमध्ये, विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये आणि शाळेशी संबंधित सर्वजणांमध्ये अभ्यासाचे (स्वयंअध्ययनाचे) वातावरण निर्माण व्हावे हा मुख्य हेतू.

सुजाण लोकसंग्रहाची संधी अभ्यासिकेमुळे मंडळाला अनायासे मिळेल हा त्याचा आनुषंगिक फायदा आहे.

प्रत्येक शालेय विभागाचे विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी आणि शिक्षकांसाठी असे स्वतंत्र ग्रंथालय विभाग असताना वेगळ्या अभ्यासिकेचा प्रपंच कशासाठी केला ?

मंडळाचे हितचिंतक, शाळेतील पालक, माजी विद्यार्थी या सर्वांना अभ्यासिकेचा फायदा घेता यावा हा हेतू आहे. सर्वांनी आपले संग्रह एकत्रित केले तर त्याचा तोटा काहीच नाही पण फायदा मात्र सर्वांनाच आहे. अनुदानित विभागांमध्येही या उपक्रमावर करावयाच्या खर्चावर मर्यादा आहे. सर्व ग्रंथालय विभागांना रोटरीसारख्या संस्थांच्या किंवा इतर देणगीदारांच्या पाठबळाचा फायदा होईल असाही हेतू होता.
